I wanted an ada compliant vanity that would look have legs but still accommodate a wheelchair under it.

Knee and toe space must be at least 30 wide and up to 25 deep measured to the leading edge of the clear floor space. Toe clearance shall extend 25 inches 635 mm maximum under an element. When purchasing an ada approved sink the only other consideration is how high you mount it. There aren t a lot of options out there for ada compliant vanities.

Bathroom sink requirements to be ada compliant every fixture in the bathroom including the sink must be accessible to a person in a wheelchair. Most are wall mounted which i didn t want. To meet ada guidelines sinks shouldn t be mounted higher than 34 inches from the floor and they should have a knee clearance of 27 inches high 30 inches wide and 11 to 25 inches deep. A knee clearance of 24 inches 610 mm minimum above the finish floor or ground shall be permitted at lavatories and sinks used primarily by children 6 through 12 years where the rim or counter surface is 31 inches 785 mm maximum above the finish floor or ground.
