If you use an microsoft 365 or microsoft exchange account with outlook you can use the scheduling assistant and room finder to help schedule your meetings.
Add room finder to outlook 2010.
When a user creates a new meeting in microsoft outlook the show a room list option isn t displayed in the room finder pane additionally none is displayed in the choose an available room box.
In outlook for office 365 the room finder control button can be found next to the location field on the meeting tab or on the ribbon when you view the scheduling assistant screen.
Reserving a room in outlook in outlook all of the resources or rooms in your organization will show up as locations.
The action of disabling the microsoft exchange add in in outlook and then enabling the add in again fixed the issue for me.
If you close the room finder and then add the room it should be fine.
Outlook client will show all the rooms and all conflicts but to empower your users and let them see only the rooms that are available for the time when they re looking at scheduling a meeting to improve user productivity requires you to setup room finder for microsoft office outlook by leveraging room list distribution groups.
Once you pick a room you will see any conflicts if the room is already reserved.
In its name the room list will be blank and the room will not add.
To configure room finder follow the steps below.
From the inbox select new items meeting or in the calendar select new meeting.
Please remember that room finder will only work with exchange server 2010 and outlook 2010.
You also can use the keyboard shortcut ctrl shift q to create a new meeting.
For this feature to work outlook can t use cached exchange mode.
This issue occurs if no room lists were created in the organization.
First create an ou in active directory where the room mailbox will be located.
This appears to be caused by the room finder feature of outlook 2010.
Then you can switch rooms and or times until you find one that works for you.
I have asked microsoft if they have a fix for this problem.
Use the scheduling assistant.
My outlook 365 click to run client ver 1803 build 9126 2259 was missing the room finder pane and the room finder option button in the meeting request window.
You can hide the room finder by selecting the room finder control in the options group of the ribbon.
