Once the heater is ready it will allow you to change and configure the settings of the thermostat.

One end of your hot wire is a line wire which means that it comes off of the power lines and carries power. Locate the wires that extend from the thermostat s rear into the wall opening behind the mounting plate. The other end of the hot wire is a load wire meaning that it flows to your baseboard heater. Sometimes lightning strikes twice and you find yourself with a built in thermostat when you already have or are ready to upgrade to a wall thermostat.

If this happens controlling the heat in your room may get confusing. But it can depend on the gas valve that the heater uses it has to be able to accept a thermostat. To install one all you need is a small 16 20 guage usually red and white in color and the thermostat itself. Attach the line and load black wire to thermostat.

A thermostat is basically an on off switch. The next step is to configure the thermostat and set it out for use. Once you are done with adding the thermostat on a propane heater you can now put the power back on and wait for a few minutes to make use of the heater. Pull the thermostat gently from the wall to expose the wires.

When it comes to electric heaters there are two main options for your thermostat. You can have a thermostat that s built into the heater or you can have a wall thermostat.
